IS MANKIND THE GOD OF MAN?
Homo Sapiens, as we know ourselves, are about 20,000 years or so old. Evolutionists have yet to find the missing link and you can't make me believe that there were dinosaurs on the ark with Noah 6,000 years or less ago. So what really happened? I think "we" happened. Please, before you write me off as another VonDaniken nut, give thought to the following questions and observations.
The bulk of Mans knowlege has arrived within the last 100 years of our existance and it comes faster every day. With the exception of intergalactic or interstellar space travel we have the technology to do most of the things attributed to "God" in Genesis and the rest of the Bible. Why do we not consider that another tribe, or tribes (this could easily explain the difference of races on our planet that do not seem to be explained anywhere else in theology or biology) of mankind visited our planet and created "Man in their own image". Along with providing a basic law to insure survival of the redesigned species. Do unto others etc. This "Word of God" seems more universal to all cultures than any other revelation associated with the various Deities worshiped around the world.
The term "intelligent design" is the reason for this musing. I feel that this is the true answer but not as permoted by creationists today. Evolution provided the "clay" and advanced mankind formed the "Pot" to suit themselves and Genesis is the account of the event explained by people with no technological knowlege or terminology and then these oral legends were transcribed and molded to fit an emerging religon.

I cant say that aliens created the "Big Bang" but who knows, and as far as populating, that was left to the evolved humanoids that the aliens created in their own image, and thirdly I prefer the term "Interplanetary Immagrants" over aliens.

Given that the Big Bang at the beginning of the universe necessarily precedes the existence of planets, doesn't it follow that the interplanetary immigrants depend on the universe for their very existence? If so, then what caused the universe?

Had not wished to get into creation but here goes. GOD existed! Being all matter, all energy all everything. Then when GOD died all "everything" dispursed. Perhaps the word GOD is an accronym for Going in the Outward Direction. This would also help explain the "rapture" prophesy. That could be the date of the end of expansion of the universe and the following time period denoted by the suffering of man will be the time it takes to shrink all matter into a giant black hole where all matter becomes GOD again.
Anyway, lets get back to the creation of man from evolved material.

The history books say religion was created to answer the mystery of life and death. That was before humans evolved the capacity to use the scientific method. Since then, I beleive, religion has been exploited as a way to encourage people to play nice, and do what they're told. First, people had a god for any occasion, then monotheism narrowed it down to one guy watching all the time, with the afterlife as the ultimate threat. In my opinion, in the present day, religion persists largely due to human arrogance (I was made in god's image), and the continuing opportunities to manipulate the masses. Frankly, I think a flower is just as amazing a biological accomplishment as the pope. As for the "Big Bang", it may very well be an ongoing process, the universe expanding, and contracting, to end the cycle with entropy, and banging again. The Hindus call it the "Lotus Dream". Also, Dick Cheney is SO OBVIOUSLY a reptilian alien, it isn't even funny.
