THE CREATION OF A NEW WORD

I tuned into Rush Limbaugh the other day and he was doing a monologue on the "elite". The people he was referring to were Clinton, Cher, Striesand, Alec Baldwin, and others of the same ilk who feel that it is only their opinion that actually matter and nobody should have the gall to question it. I guess they base this feeling on their earnings, or star power, or what they feel is their major contributions to life as a whole, Thusly making their utterances gospel.
The following day a listener took him to task regarding the definition of "elite". After listening to both of them hem and haw, each espousing Multiple usages of the word, I decided that there was a need for a "new word" to define the above type of people (we all know some). Henceforth they will be :
E-LITE; n, adj. Having the same appearance as the real product (ie LITE BEER) but lacking 90% of the defining substance.

A DUMB IDEA FOR CALIFORNIA HIGHWAY TAX

Have you heard avout the idea of placing a mileage meter on all California cars and taxing them yearly for the mile that they have run? This is the brain child of the dim bulb that "Arnie" thinks should run the DMV. She states that the highway revenue is down 10% (probaply due to more efficent cars and less tourism in this overpriced and over taxed state, and obsenely over priced gasoline) so she somehow feels that cars are getting gasoline without paying the 18 cents per gallon tax at the pumps. What she has not told us is who will pay for the devices and installation, what bureaucracy will read these 10 million meters annually, whether these meters will disconnect when you go out of state, how to meter out of state cars and trucks when they come into state, questions of violation of federal interstate law, invasion of privacy, etc, etc, etc. Lord save us from such "creative thinkers!"
