Restroom Revival

One of the dedications of this space is to revive poetry and phylosophy on restroom walls. Here is one of the first poems I ever read. Guess where?

I saw a birdie in the snow,
Frozen from the cold winter's blow,
I coaxed it near with crusts of bread,
And then I crushed it's fucking head!

A NEW DRAFT?

Do I think it will happen? No. The state of today's army is such that there is no room for the cannon fodder of years past. Today's wars are fought differently and many of the things that the military did to occupy the time of the draftee have been mechanized or turned over to private contractors.
We must also consider current civil, cultural and Constitutional rights that would demand the drafting of women in equal numbers to men. Although many would say, why not? The parents of these women would strongly rebel at the thought of their daughters in front line combat. I know I would!
However, I feel that there is a win, win situation. Mandatory military training for all physically fit teenagers. Men and Women equally. This short period of time would accomplish basic mititary training for all, thus relieving the military of the time and cost of basic and enabling them to concentrate on advanced training. It would give all a taste of the military and perhaps steer many of them into the military as a career. It would give the Federal and State Governments a vast pool of trained personal in case of national emergency, and most of all, it would give a kid a few months to take a look at the real world and enable them to make better choices in what the wish to do for the rest of their lives.

THE CALIFORNIA STATE OF TEACHERS

It was recently published in the Fresno Bee, a special ed teacher in our local area has filed assault charges against a 15 year old, 100 pound autistic child. She stated that he pushed her and threw 2 chairs against the wall. Educational personal are now worried that more autistic children will be brought up on criminal charges and brought before the judge.
The facts in the matter are these. The teacher involved (supposedly thoroughly trained in working with autistic) has 26 years experience. The school district did not report the incident, the teacher herself went to the police. The instructions that are required for handling these children are specific in what response to take during an incident.
The specific instructions for this child are; Take him to Ms Telmeena Jackson and let him call home to reassure himself. When the boy had his episode, he was taken to Ms Jackson but instead of following instructions and allowing the boy to phone home, She decided to exercise her will over the child and force him to do class work before using the phone.
The boy does not understand the problem, he maintains that all he did was tap her on the shoulder to get her attention. When she did not respond he threw the chairs. Who knows for sure? They were in a locked room together.
This incident happened in March and of course Ms Jackson has been too upset to teach since (probably on workmans comp leave for stress). The question remains, are these teachers really being trained to handle autistism, or like everything else in our education system, being dumbed down to graduate the dumber students that apply for teaching education? Or is she just another one of these people at the Public Trough that looking for an "early out" at our expense?

My take on John Kerry

My personal feelings are that John Kerry should be standing before a military tribunal for war crimes instead of running for President. Let's face it folks, this man is the lowest of rats! I am a VietNam veteran (1969-1970) in a combat arm of the army. I had two qualifing scratches for purple hearts that I refused to enter, because I felt that it would cheapen the true meaning of the award. Look at the guys with missing limbs, scars that look like they were sewn up with shoe laces. How could anyone wear this award for a scratch? The War itself was unpopular but the soldier in the field fought not for Government, not for valor , but for each other and the little people that are always caught in the middle and suffer the most. When Kerry snuck out of combat then denounced the men that he had fought with is the most traitorous act that ever occured during the war. Prisoners were tortured for years to get them to make the same statments that Kerry volunteered for personal gain. This is the lowest of low! Any vet, of any war, that considers voting for this rat deserves a dangling chad!

The name sounds a lot like rest room doesn't it?

Speaking of rest rooms, I remember when the sanctified walls of the shitter were reserved for poetry, philosophy, and proficy. I guess it was in the sixties that the trend turned to sexual liasons, gang graffitti, and just plain stupitity. I would like to start a movement (no pun intended) to bring interesting reading and origionality back to these hallowed slates for the bypasser to reflect upon for the few minutes of respite taken from a harrowed day. in future postings I will get the ball rolling and will accept comment for the enrichment of the masses
