Only Mother Nature knows for sure! The geologic record of this planet spans millions of years ( sorry religious folk ). It shows at least 3 ice ages lasting tens of thousands years. It shows arid spells lasting tens of thousands of years. It shows changes of polarity of the earth ( ie ) mastadons frozen in the tundra with fresh daiseys in their mouthes. The seas have risen and land masses submerged . The seas have fallen ( and even disappeared ) and land masses have risen. Plant and animal types have come and gone.

THE BIGGEST LIE!
Only the elimination of green house gasses and massive amounts of money sent to environmental movements will save the planet.

THE BIG QUESTION?
If we really wanted to effect environmental stress why don't we simply reduce the amount of people requireing food and fuel? With just a few socio-economic changes in third world countries the whole issue would be moot. Lets stop theocratic and dictatorial governments from lining their pockets with the sweat of their people and the natural resources that belong to them. Lets make their lives such that they do not have to have 15 to twenty children so 1 or 2 of them live to support their parents in their old age. Lets increase health and decrease ignorance. Lets encourage responsible birth control and discourage organized religions' mind control urging multipulcation of the faithful by birth.
The above would be far less costly and be more effective in a shorter period of time than any of the " Protocals " and money making scare tactics being promoted today.

THE FINAL TRUTH!
Any time a population outgrows its environment, disease and starvation thin the herd until only the strong remain. Mankind is no different than any of the herd animals on this planet, but we do have the ability to recognize a problem and correct it.

WHO DIES, MAN OR PLANT? THE SEQUAL

Almost all of the new technology to replace fossil fuels are pointing toward hydrogen conversion. To the best of my knowlege the principal is to pass water over a catylist and free a Hydrogen atom to burn. Then when the HO exits it immediately picks up a new Hydrogen atom from the air and becomes H2O again. This is all well and good but where does Hydrogen come from? How readily replaceable is it? When Hydrogen burns is it destroyed? If the tens of millions of fossil fuel burning engines convert to Hydrogen will there be enough? Where will the carbon compounds that are needed for photosynthisis come from to support plant life at its current level? Can man survive on lesser amounts or no Hydrogen? Could we talk without sounding like Minnie Mouse on speed?
Whos got an answer, or even a good guess? Its been too long since high school chemistry! I would even settle for a SWAG

THEOLOGY QUESTION

If you are a young, beautiful, Christian virgin and you are killed in a terrorist attack by some suicidal hairball, and become his slave in his hereafter, how do you get the heaven you were promised?
Does God and Allah have some sort of prisoner soul exchange? Where would God get the fodder for trade? Or is it, oops sorry about that,?

IS MANKIND THE GOD OF MAN?

Homo Sapiens, as we know ourselves, are about 20,000 years or so old. Evolutionists have yet to find the missing link and you can't make me believe that there were dinosaurs on the ark with Noah 6,000 years or less ago. So what really happened? I think "we" happened. Please, before you write me off as another VonDaniken nut, give thought to the following questions and observations.
The bulk of Mans knowlege has arrived within the last 100 years of our existance and it comes faster every day. With the exception of intergalactic or interstellar space travel we have the technology to do most of the things attributed to "God" in Genesis and the rest of the Bible. Why do we not consider that another tribe, or tribes (this could easily explain the difference of races on our planet that do not seem to be explained anywhere else in theology or biology) of mankind visited our planet and created "Man in their own image". Along with providing a basic law to insure survival of the redesigned species. Do unto others etc. This "Word of God" seems more universal to all cultures than any other revelation associated with the various Deities worshiped around the world.
The term "intelligent design" is the reason for this musing. I feel that this is the true answer but not as permoted by creationists today. Evolution provided the "clay" and advanced mankind formed the "Pot" to suit themselves and Genesis is the account of the event explained by people with no technological knowlege or terminology and then these oral legends were transcribed and molded to fit an emerging religon.
